2. Will WebRunner work with any other operating systems
such as OS2, MacOS or Linux?
Yes,
PowerPC G3 processor 333MHz
128 MB of RAM
OS X 10.2 or later
28.8k modem
6 MB of free disk space
Web Browser with Proxy support (i.e. Safari, Internet Explorer, Netscape)
Yes,
WebRunner works with almost any web browser. We do recommend Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher.
4. Which POP3 e-mail programs does WebRunner work with?
WebRunner
works with Microsoft Outlook Express and Microsoft Outlook.
5. How exactly does WebRunner accelerate my e-mail?
Most
e-mail messages are typically composed of a combination of both
text and images. This is especially true for HTML formatted
e-mail messages which is now the most commonly used format for
e-mail. WebRunner accelerates your e-mail by compressing the
size of the images in HTML formatted e-mail messages and attachments
(such as photographs), thereby making the overal size of the
messages smaller and thus resulting in faster mail downloads.
6. Does WebRunner work with web-based e-mail such as Hotmail,
Yahoo Mail, etc.?
Yes,
since web-based e-mail interfaces are basically just web pages,
WebRunner will accelerate the speed at which your web-based
e-mail messages open in your browser. However, the speed at
which file attachments are UPLOADED from your computer to the
web-based e-mail server you use when composing a message is
not able to be accelerated in the current design of WebRunner.
This is not usually a significant issue though since most users
of web-based e-mail only compose brief outgoing text messages
without images or other attachments.
7. Does WebRunner accelerate the speed of FTP downloads
or uploads?
No,
WebRunner does not accelerate FTP transfers in either direction.
This is because FTP uses different TCP/IP ports than the ports
that Web and E-Mail services use. However, the vast majority
of time spent online by most users is spent viewing web pages.
Therefore, the vast majority of your Internet online time will
be accelerated by WebRunner!
